All the Bad Kids Go to Mars is a campy space adventure about rebellion, survival, and what happens when the people society calls “bad” get sent somewhere they were never meant to thrive. When a group of troublesome teens are put on a spaceship to Mars, they quickly realize that being labeled a “bad kid” might be the least of their problems. As secrets surface, alliances form, and the rules of Earth no longer apply. The group must decide whether they’ll keep playing the roles assigned to them or rewrite their story entirely. Bold, funny, and a little chaotic, All the Bad Kids Go to Mars explores identity, power, and the strange freedom of being far away from home.

DIRECTOR & CAST NOTE
This production is the collective work of the class. The choice of script was made by the students, who were wanting to do something comedic and fun. The casting was also decided collaboratively based on student preference for roles that would both excite and challenge them. Everyone worked beautifully together to realize the vision for the production. Each student selected an area of responsibility - set, props, costumes, sound, lighting, marketing and stage management.
However, the team supported each other in all areas. This collaboration is necessary in theatre and a wonderful skill to take beyond the theatre. This show, as a class final project, also provided all those involved with an opportunity to understand the various components of producing a play.
Rehearsals and preparation have been the full focus of the Acting III: Advanced Practice course since mid-February. We are grateful for all those who helped us to take it from page to stage.
The play is set in an imagined future, and the U.S.A., but it does raise relevant questions about who society finds disposable.
This play’s political beliefs may not be those of everyone involved! Although we do encourage everyone to find moments of ridiculousness and joy.
- pulsing lights with music
- spaceship rumble/beeps
