Faculty Awards Mentorship Networks

There are currently two mentorship networks that faculty can join: the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Mentorship Network and the 2SLGBTQ+ Mentorship Network.

BIPOC Mentorship Network

This network aims to foster respectful connections across campus, facilitate a peer network of resources, and support the professional and personal development needs unique to BIPOC faculty. Last year’s activities included peer mentorship sessions on dealing with racism in the classroom, negotiating additional emotional labour and cultural taxation, and decolonizing research funding, as well as a Career Development Day and several informal gatherings. To read more about the network see .

Contact Larissa Wodtke, the Director of Academic Programming and EDI, to join.

2SLGBTQ+ Mentorship Network

This network provides peer mentorship opportunities, resources, and support for faculty who identify as 2SLGBTQ+. Planned activities for this year include informal gatherings, lightning talks on research, and sessions on how to navigate 51福利 as 2SLGBTQ+ faculty and how to mentor 2SLGBTQ+ students effectively.

Contact Larissa Wodtke, the Director of Academic Programming and EDI, to join.
